Cristiano Ronaldo had a prominent appearance during the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, where he was recognized as the top player in the Middle East.
Ronaldo sparked a debate when he claimed that the Saudi Pro League, where he plays for Al-Nassr, is superior to Ligue 1 in France. He stated, “Saudi League is better than Ligue 1, of course. Try to sprint in 38, 39, 40-degree weather and see. France only has PSG. The rest are finished.”
The renowned player, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, also defended his former Manchester United coach, Ruben Amorim, amidst a challenging start in the Premier League after taking over from Erik ten Hag. Ronaldo expressed optimism about Amorim’s prospects despite the club’s current position, stating, “The storm will finish and the sun will rise.”
Ronaldo also commented on this year’s Ballon d’Or, stating that Vinicius Júnior deserved the award over Rodri. Vinicius was named the best player in the world during the ceremony in Dubai and had previously won FIFA’s ‘The Best’ award recently. “Vinicius deserved the Ballon d’Or. It was unfair (to lose it),” Ronaldo asserted.
