Tom Brady, a minority owner of Birmingham City Football Club, voiced strong criticism regarding Wayne Rooney’s management of the team in an upcoming Amazon Prime documentary. The documentary focuses on Birmingham’s promotion to the Championship and features Brady’s remarks labeling some of Rooney’s players as lazy and entitled, along with concerns about the manager’s work ethic.
Brady notes, “I’m a little worried about our head coach’s [Rooney’s] work ethic. I mean, I don’t know, I don’t have great instincts on that.”
Rooney took charge just weeks after Brady invested in the club and faced challenges during his tenure, which ultimately led to his dismissal. Brady indicated that changes are necessary, stating, “Well, we’ve already changed the coach, so it’s really the players because the coach doesn’t go out there and put the ball in the goal. They were lazy, they were entitled, and when you’re lazy and entitled, you don’t have much of a chance to succeed.”
Birmingham City plans to move forward in search of new leadership to foster a successful environment.
