Shedeur Sanders: Will He Start for the Browns in Week 1 After His NFL Debut?

Shedeur Sanders, the former Colorado quarterback, impressed in his NFL debut, raising questions about his potential as a starter for the Cleveland Browns.

Former Colorado standout Shedeur Sanders made his NFL debut for the Cleveland Browns in the first preseason game against the Carolina Panthers last Friday. He played until he was subbed out for Tyler Huntley late in the third quarter, completing 14 of 23 passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns.

The Browns currently have six quarterbacks: Sanders, Huntley, third-round rookie Dillon Gabriel, Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and Deshaun Watson.

Current betting odds suggest Flacco is the favorite at -156 to be the Week 1 starter, followed by Pickett at +150. Sanders is priced at +1100.

Interestingly, Sanders has the eighth-best Offensive Rookie of the Year odds at Caesars Sportsbook at +1800, trailing first-round rookie Jaxson Dart who also has +1800 odds. The number one pick, Cam Ward is listed at +300.
