While Tom Brady is often hailed as the best NFL quarterback of all time, Von Miller believes that title belongs to former teammate Peyton Manning. Miller recently shared his thoughts on the debate regarding the greatest quarterback, stating:
“Obviously, there’s gonna be a debate between Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, who was the best. For me, it’ll always be Peyton Manning. He changed the quarterback position in terms of changing the play. He wasn’t scrambling or doing none of that stuff. He did it all with his arm, and it was beautiful, man.”
Miller explained that while Brady may have more championships, Manning’s impact on the game was monumental. Manning is unique as the sole NFL player to have secured the MVP award five times and holds remarkable records, including 5,477 passing yards in the 2013 season.
Furthermore, both players had successful careers, but Brady’s longevity and titles stand out. Ultimately, their rivalry, much like that of golf greats Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer, showcases different strengths and contributions to the sport.
Miller added:
“He’s so humble. He knew every single guy in the facility, whether it was the janitors or all the coaches. He had a personal relationship with everybody. He was truly the first person in the building.”
