UCLA's Lauren Betts Opts for Senior Year Over 2025 WNBA Draft Decision

Lauren Betts, a standout at UCLA, has chosen to return for her senior season instead of entering the 2025 WNBA Draft, having the potential to be a lottery pick.

UCLA star Lauren Betts announced on Friday her decision to return for her senior season and forgo declaring for the 2025 WNBA Draft. At 6-foot-7, Betts was seen as a promising lottery pick had she chose to enter this year’s draft.

“College is the best years of your life, and so I don’t think I’d ever give that up,” Betts remarked, indicating her desire to stay in school for another year.

Continuing her education allows her to enjoy time alongside her younger sister, Siena Betts, who is set to join the Bruins next season.

This past season, Betts has made a significant impact, averaging 20.2 points and leading the nation with 2.9 blocks. Her performance has helped UCLA maintain an undefeated record and sit atop national rankings, making them a contender for the national championship.
