WWE Unveils Wrestlepalooza PPV Set for September Featuring John Cena and Cody Rhodes

WWE announces a new pay-per-view, Wrestlepalooza, scheduled for September with several major stars expected to compete.

A new WWE pay-per-view is set on the schedule. WWE Wrestlepalooza will be held on September 20 in Indianapolis, featuring John Cena as the headliner.

The event is slated to take place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, where this year’s Royal Rumble was also held. Wrestlepalooza will be streamed on ESPN platforms in the U.S., marking the start of a new PPV agreement between the two organizations. While no matches have been announced yet, several well-known wrestlers are confirmed to appear.

Cena, expected to headline as part of his retirement tour, may face Brock Lesnar, who made an unexpected return at SummerSlam. Cody Rhodes, the Undisputed WWE Champion, Seth Rollins, the World Heavyweight Champion, Becky Lynch, the Women’s Intercontinental Champion, as well as CM Punk and Drew McIntyre are also set to participate at Wrestlepalooza, according to WWE’s press release.

“A new home. A new PLE. A new era. An historic partnership, a major step towards the future!!!”
— Triple H on Twitter regarding Wrestlepalooza

Wrestlepalooza will coincide with AEW All Out, continuing WWE’s trend of scheduling events against its competitor in the wrestling scene.

The name Wrestlepalooza is a homage to the now-defunct Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), which held the event four times between 1995 and 2000 before closing down in 2001.
