Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis Set for November Showdown

The unique exhibition boxing match will feature social media influencer Jake Paul facing WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis.

After moving to tackle his most formidable opponent yet in Anthony Joshua, Jake Paul has shifted gears and will now box current WBA lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis in an exhibition format. The match is scheduled for November 14 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta and will be streamed live on Netflix.

This matchup is curious as it sees Paul fight at a cruiserweight level, while Davis has a title at 135 pounds, leading to a significant weight disparity of about 65 pounds between the two fighters. Paul’s previous aspirations for a Joshua fight marked a new direction in his boxing career.

Having previously defeated notable figures such as AnEsonGib and Nate Robinson, Paul endured a narrow defeat to Tommy Fury in 2023 and subsequently claimed victory over various former UFC combatants and two low-ranking boxers, culminating in a win against Mike Tyson.

Davis is recognized for his exceptional skills and multiple titles, but he faces a distinct challenge regarding size as he stands eight inches shorter than Paul. His anticipated rematch with Lamont Roach Jr. fell through following an arrest related to an alleged domestic incident, although charges against him were later dropped.
