Sean Strickland has been suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for six months, starting retroactively from June 29. This action was taken after a brawl occurred during the Tuff-N-Uff event in which he served as a cornerman. Strickland has the possibility to shorten his suspension to four and a half months by completing an anger management course. In addition, he has been fined $5,000 and incurred extra legal expenses. This ruling follows a temporary suspension issued to him last month.
The incident involved Strickland attacking fellow fighter Luis Hernandez after Hernandez taunted their teammate Miles Hunsinger, following a submission defeat. Strickland and Curtis entered the cage in response, resulting in a physical altercation. NSAC chairman Dallas Haun commented on Strickland’s proactive approach, stating, “He made this process easy. He has taken responsibility for his actions, which is commendable.”

Curtis was also fined $2,500 for his involvement in the conflict. Hernandez expressed that he did not wish for Strickland to face consequences, despite the suspension handed down by the commission, saying, “I hope the commission does not take this out on them.”
