John Cena has revealed the date of his last match, which will mark the end of his farewell tour on December 13, taking place during WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event. NBC confirmed that this event will stream exclusively on Peacock.
Last year, WWE struck a deal to air quarterly primetime specials on NBC and Peacock, indicating a robust relationship between Peacock and WWE. “Saturday Night’s Main Event provides some of the highest quality content that WWE produces, including John Cena’s upcoming retirement match, which will be live and exclusive on Peacock,” said NBC Sports president Rick Cordella.
While further details on Cena’s retirement match remain undisclosed, there are speculations it could happen near Boston, close to his hometown of New Westbury, Massachusetts. Cena is set to face Logan Paul in a significant singles match on August 31.
