Eberechi Eze's Eligibility for Arsenal in the Champions League

Exploring whether Eberechi Eze, set to move from Crystal Palace to Arsenal, can participate in the UEFA Champions League after being part of Palace's Conference League squad.

Eberechi Eze, set for a £60 million transfer to Arsenal, will not take part for Crystal Palace in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday against Fredrikstad. This decision comes as he prepares for a potential new chapter at Arsenal. Crystal Palace was removed from the Europa League due to multi-club ownership rules. Given that Eze will not be playing, he won’t be cup-tied, making him eligible to join Arsenal’s Champions League squad without complications.

UCL eligibility

Since Eze won’t be participating, there will be no obstacles in registering him for Arsenal’s Champions League squad, which hasn’t been submitted yet. However, if Arsenal decides to transfer Eze again in January, he wouldn’t be able to play for a third club without falling under FIFA’s two-team rule, which restricts players to being eligible for matches for only two clubs in a season.
