Anthony Davis Departs from Mavericks' Debut Due to Possible Groin Injury

In his first game with the Dallas Mavericks, Anthony Davis leaves the court experiencing an apparent groin injury.

In his debut with the Dallas Mavericks, Anthony Davis exited the game after sustaining a possible groin injury during the match against the Houston Rockets.

The Mavericks announced that he was doubtful to return due to this lower-body injury.

Davis moved to the Mavericks following a major trade, which sent Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers. Critics of the trade have often pointed out Davis’s history of injuries.

Prior to this game, the 31-year-old had missed two matches with the Lakers due to an abdominal strain and did not participate in the first two games with the Mavericks as they embarked on a five-game road trip.

Davis was injured without any contact when Alperen Sengun drove for a layup. He limped toward the offensive end, then remained beside the Mavericks bench while his teammates continued the play.

After the Rockets regained possession, Davis did not return to play. The Mavericks committed a foul to stop the game clock and bring him out.

Davis had already scored 24 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, provided five assists, and blocked three shots in the first half.
