Upcoming Draw for 2026 FIFA World Cup to Take Place at Kennedy Center in Washington

The draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to be co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the US, will occur in Washington, D.C.

The draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to take place on December 5 at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., as announced by U.S. President Donald Trump.

Trump made this declaration from the Oval Office alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino. The draw will establish 12 groups, each containing four teams, for the tournament scheduled from June 11 to July 19.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will showcase 48 teams and will be co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the U.S., with a total of 104 matches spread over 16 cities. The final match is slated for July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

So far, 13 teams have secured their spots for the tournament, which includes the three co-hosting nations. The remaining teams that have qualified are Japan, New Zealand, Iran, Argentina, Uzbekistan, South Korea, Jordan, Australia, Brazil, and Ecuador. The qualification process will proceed until March 2026.

The 11 cities in the U.S. designated to host World Cup matches include: New York/New Jersey (MetLife Stadium), Los Angeles (SoFi Stadium), Dallas (AT&T Stadium), San Francisco Bay Area (Levi’s Stadium), Miami (Hard Rock Stadium), Atlanta (Mercedes-Benz Stadium), Seattle (Lumen Field), Houston (NRG Stadium), Philadelphia (Lincoln Financial Field), Kansas City, Missouri (Arrowhead Stadium), and Boston (Gillette Stadium).
