The Seattle Storm’s tumultuous 2025 season reached another peak on Sunday as Nneka Ogwumike clinched a thrilling 84-82 victory over the Washington Mystics with a buzzer-beater.

Ogwumike scored 30 points in total, leading the Storm to their significant win amid an intense playoff race.

After an early lead, the Storm struggled during the fourth quarter, allowing the Mystics to come back and compete closely until the last moments. A remarkable sequence resulted in six lead changes in the final 1:16 of the game, ultimately concluded by Ogwumike’s decisive shot.

Ogwumike described her final play, referencing coach Noelle Quinn’s strategy. “It’s the smaller moments that I think we were able to string together today to be able to put a nail-biter into the win column.”
