Tristen Keys Transfers from LSU to Tennessee: Top WR in Class of 2026 Chooses Volunteers Over Rival Tigers

Tennessee secures a significant win in recruiting as Tristen Keys flips to the Vols, bolstering their roster for the upcoming season.

Tennessee achieved a major milestone in recruiting by securing a commitment from Tristen Keys, the top wide receiver for the 2026 class, who officially switched his allegiance from LSU to the Volunteers. This marks the third five-star addition to Tennessee’s already impressive recruiting class this Thursday.

The transfer had been anticipated all summer long. Keys visited Tennessee on June 13 and expressed to Tom Loy from 247Sports that he decided during that trip. Although he had an upcoming visit to LSU on June 20, he informed the Tigers’ coaches beforehand that a flip to Tennessee was likely. However, he proceeded to Baton Rouge with an open mindset. Ultimately, the visit did not change his plans, leading him to commit to the Volunteers.

After a stellar junior season at Hattiesburg (Miss.), where he totaled 1,275 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns, Keys rose dramatically through the recruiting ranks, achieving five-star designation. He also showcased his athletic abilities in track and basketball during the state competitions.

With this commitment, Tennessee now has three five-star prospects in their 2026 class, all dedicated to offensive roles. Among these, Faizon Brandon stands out as the nation’s top quarterback, while offensive tackle Gabriel Osenda enhances their elite recruits. The synergy between Brandon and Keys could greatly shape Tennessee’s offense in the coming years, especially with Osenda safeguarding Brandon’s position.

“Faizon and I have a great relationship,” said Keys, referring to Brandon. “We started building it around the ninth grade. We connected at Future 50. I know he can throw the ball. We’re going to put on a show on Saturday nights.”
