Texas WR Emmett Mosley V Likely Limited Against Ohio State: Arch Manning May Miss Key Transfer from Stanford
The Texas Longhorns might face a tough game against Ohio State as they could be missing WR Emmett Mosley V due to a leg injury.
The Texas wide receiver lineup will be somewhat diminished as they prepare for their Week 1 clash against No. 3 Ohio State. Expected starting wideout Emmett Mosley V will be limited due to a leg injury he’s been managing throughout training camp.
Mosley transitioned to Texas from Stanford after spring practices, aiming to make an immediate impact this season. During his freshman year at Stanford, he had impressive stats, recording 48 receptions for 525 yards and six touchdowns. He was anticipated to be a primary target for star quarterback Arch Manning, but Mosley is still in recovery.
With the recent departures of star receivers Matthew Golden and Isaiah Bond to the NFL, along with All-SEC tight end Gunnar Helm, Texas must address their receiving corps as they head into the game. Although Mosley’s absence is significant, Texas has bolstered its recruitment and is prepared to step up in his place. Parker Livingstone, a redshirt freshman and Mosley’s roommate, is likely to fill the starting role in his absence and has been taking first-team snaps recently.
At 6-foot-4, Livingstone adds size and a reliable target for Manning, who is looking for options in the wake of Mosley’s injury. Livingstone, ranked as the No. 106 wide receiver in the 2024 signing class, was not able to catch a ball last year as a true freshman, but has shown enough progress to warrant increased playtime this season.
