Updated Tight End Rankings for Fantasy Football: Your Cheat Sheet

A guide to the latest tier-based rankings for tight ends ahead of your fantasy football draft.

As we’ve wrapped up the initial week of preseason games, it’s a pivotal moment to refresh our tight end rankings. This updated version highlights the players within each tier, focusing solely on potential shifts.

For a comprehensive analysis of each player, refer to the previous versions of tiers:

This update is influenced by PPR leagues and one point for every 10 yards gained through rushing and receiving. These rankings aim to assist you in making informed decisions for your upcoming draft.

Tier 1

  • Brock Bowers
  • Trey McBride
    No changes from Tiers 4.0.

Tier 2

  • George Kittle
    No changes from Tiers 4.0.

Tier 3

  • David Njoku
  • Travis Kelce
  • Sam LaPorta
  • T.J. Hockenson
Adjustments placed Njoku at the top of this tier with Joe Flacco as Cleveland’s starting quarterback. Njoku had an average of 18.6 PPR points per game in five games with Flacco in 2023, while Kelce was moved ahead of LaPorta due to Rashee Rice’s suspension for the first six games.

Tier 4

  • Tyler Warren
  • Tucker Kraft
  • Evan Engram
Engram was moved to this tier, and Loveland dropped to Tier 5. Engram is expected to be a key target for the Broncos, making him worth a Round 9 draft pick.

Tier 5

  • Mark Andrews
  • Colston Loveland
Loveland was pushed back due to competition in Chicago but should still be on your radar for Round 10 alongside another tight end choice.

Tier 6

  • Dalton Kincaid
  • Jake Ferguson
  • Zach Ertz
  • Dallas Goedert
  • Kyle Pitts
Ertz surpassed Goedert in this tier; he is positioned to play a significant role for the Commanders, especially if Terry McLaurin is limited early this season.

Tier 7

  • Jonnu Smith
  • Chigoziem Okonkwo
  • Brenton Strange
  • Hunter Henry
Okonkwo is anticipated to take on a significant role, possibly as the second option in the Titans’ passing strategy behind Calvin Ridley.

Tier 8

  • Mason Taylor
  • Isaiah Likely
  • Juwan Johnson
  • Mike Gesicki
  • Darren Waller
  • Elijah Arroyo
Arroyo’s ranking has fallen as he may require more time before impacting Fantasy leagues. He’s primarily a late-round choice for deeper formats.

Tier 9

  • Theo Johnson
  • Dalton Schultz
  • Ja’Tavion Sanders
  • Tyler Conklin
  • Pat Freiermuth
  • Cade Otton
    No changes from Tiers 4.0.

Tier 10

  • Oronde Gadsden II
  • Terrance Ferguson
  • Tyler Higbee
  • Cole Kmet
  • Harold Fannin Jr.
  • Ben Sinnott
  • Gunnar Helm
  • Will Dissly
    No changes from Tiers 4.0.
