Watch: Arkansas Executes a Surprising Onside Kick After Hitting Alabama A&M Player

The Razorbacks inadvertently performed an incredible onside kick while trying to run out the clock against Alabama A&M.

Arkansas comes into the 2025 season with low external expectations, but plenty of internal pressure to take some strides forward with coach Sam Pittman in a precarious position.

Week 1 against Alabama A&M provided a chance to boost morale with a dominating game, and indeed the Razorbacks took a 31-3 lead into halftime. However, a surprising turn occurred when they attempted a squib kick to end the half, which unintentionally morphed into an accidental onside kick.

The attempt hit a Bulldogs player and ricocheted back towards Arkansas’s kicker, who surprisingly picked it up and made a run, despite the play being dead. The Razorbacks comfortably closed the game without any repercussions from this unusual possession.

Such unorthodox plays might be necessary to maintain momentum as the Razorbacks gear up for the SEC schedule, where they will need to capitalize on similar opportunities to ensure their future success.
