Yunus Musah Joins Atalanta on Loan from AC Milan in $29 Million Transfer

Yunus Musah has been loaned to Atalanta from AC Milan for a season, with a deal reportedly worth $29 million.

After not making the roster under Mauricio Pochettino for the September international period, United States men’s national team midfielder Yunus Musah has finalized a season-long loan deal from AC Milan to Atalanta BC, according to various sources including reporter Fabrizio Romano.

The arrangement is estimated to be around $29 million, which includes the loan fee as well as Atalanta’s purchase option. Musah joined Milan from Valencia in 2023 for $21 million. He previously played in Arsenal’s youth team.

Musah, now 22 years old, appeared in 40 matches for Milan last season, contributing three assists, all while stationed in central midfield, although he also operated as a right midfielder.

Milan’s coach, Massimiliano Allegri, gave Musah the starting role in the season opener against Lecce, where he participated for the full 90 minutes in their 2-0 victory. His United States teammate, Christian Pulisic, netted the second goal.

Musah’s last match for the United States was during the Concacaf Nations League finals in March, where the team was sadly ousted in the semifinals by Panama. Musah played the full match as a right-back.
