Eagles' Rookies Transforming Philadelphia's Defense Ahead of Super Bowl 2025

A look at how rookies Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell have significantly improved the Eagles' defense this season.

NEW ORLEANS – The Philadelphia Eagles started the 2024 season just 2-2, dropping games against the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers prior to their Week 5 bye. In that second loss, their defense struggled, allowing 445 total yards and 33 points.

This transformation led to DeJean and Mitchell being finalists for the league’s Defensive Rookie of the Year award. As Slay aptly noted, “This Eagles secondary is gonna have two great young corners for a long, long time.”
