The Blue Jays sport a 6-8 record since mid-August, while the Tigers, despite earlier strong performances, have suffered six losses in their last eight games. Their pitching staff, led by Tarik Skubal, has raised concerns.
Interestingly, the Red Sox and Yankees are just 2.5 games behind the Blue Jays in the AL East, indicating the tight race for playoff contention. The Astros and Mariners are also within striking distance, intensifying the competition.
As it stands, six teams in the AL are positioned as genuine contenders for the pennant, and given the unpredictable nature of the season, any one of them could rise unexpectedly during the playoffs.
