Caitlin Clark's Injury Timeline: Fever Set to Evaluate Star Player's Return

The Indiana Fever is planning a crucial meeting to assess Caitlin Clark's future this season following her prolonged injury absence.

The Indiana Fever will convene on Thursday to deliberate on Caitlin Clark’s status for the remainder of the WNBA season, according to coach Stephanie White. Clark, who has been absent since July 15 due to a right groin injury, has only participated in 13 games this season.

“We really wanted to use this West Coast trip to evaluate. We’re gonna sit down after practice [Thursday] and hopefully have a direction soon,” White stated. “We knew we had a stretch over the weekend to really see where we are, and the hope is to sit down and have an answer one way or another.”

The Fever will complete their regular season on Tuesday, with the end of the WNBA season for all teams set for September 11. Playoffs kick off on September 14.

With the regular season nearing its end, Clark has not yet fully returned to team practices. White mentioned that “she hasn’t been able to do a whole lot of contact” but has engaged in shooting drills.

“I want to see her in practice, live in practice,” White emphasized. “We need to see how she plays through fatigue” given the limited time available for practices before playoffs.

Earlier this month, White expressed her expectations for Clark to partake in multiple practice sessions before she resumes gameplay.

In her absence, the Fever have recorded an 8-5 win-loss record with Clark on the court but have dropped to 13-14 without her. As of now, they sit at the eighth and final playoff position, only 1.5 games ahead of the ninth-place Sparks.
