As EuroBasket 2025 progresses to the knockout rounds, Spain, the defending champions, have been eliminated. Major stars like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Luka Dončić continue to compete for their countries.
EuroBasket 2025 has advanced to the knockout stage with 16 teams vying to be crowned champions of Europe, but the defending champions, Spain, have been eliminated during the group phase.
The knockout stage will take place in Riga, Latvia, featuring an array of NBA stars. Among them are Luka Dončić representing Slovenia and Nikola Jokić leading Serbia, a top contender. Giannis Antetokounmpo is once again playing for Greece. Other notable players include Latvia’s Kristaps Porziņģis, Franz Wagner from Germany, and a promising French duo of Zaccharie Risacher and Bilal Coulibaly. However, Victor Wembanyama will not participate following a health issue that curtailed his NBA season.
Tournament Format
The competition began with four groups of six teams each, using a round-robin format. The top four teams in each group progressed to the knockout rounds.
