Uruguay, Colombia, and Paraguay secure their positions in the upcoming World Cup through successful qualifying rounds.

Uruguay, Colombia, and Paraguay have confirmed their participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup after their impressive performances in the South American qualifiers. On Thursday, both Uruguay and Colombia claimed 3-0 victories, while Paraguay advanced with a scoreless draw, joining already qualified teams Argentina, Brazil, and Ecuador.

Colombia’s James Rodriguez scored the first goal in the 31st minute, followed by contributions from John Cordoba and Juan Fernando Quintero in the second half, sealing their win against Bolivia. Meanwhile, reigning World Cup champions Argentina defeated Venezuela 3-0, with Lionel Messi netting twice.

Peru, required to secure wins in their last two matches, is now unable to qualify after their defeat to Uruguay.
