As one of the only two players in history to record 12 sacks in each of his first four seasons, Parsons left a significant imprint in his first game. The other player to share this record is Reggie White, the legendary sack leader who also started elsewhere before joining the Packers.
While his only tackle may not seem like much, his pressure on Goff was palpable, having rushed against All-Pro tackle Penei Sewell. NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport noted that Parsons’ snap counts were carefully managed to ensure his readiness for the season ahead.
“He鈥檚 going to be a little bit limited as far as his snaps go, but not due to his facet joint sprain in his back,” stated Rapoport. “The Packers are using the next four weeks as a training camp to ensure he is in peak condition.”
This debut signals a bright future for Parsons as he gets settled into his role with the Packers.
