
Naz Reid's Sister Tragically Killed in Shooting, Boyfriend Arrested
Toraya Reid, sister of NBA player Naz Reid, was fatally shot in New Jersey, with her boyfriend facing charges.
The sister of Naz Reid, who plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves, was shot and killed at a New Jersey apartment complex. Her boyfriend, Shaquille Green, has been charged with murder after the incident.
On Saturday around 11 a.m., police responded to reports of gunfire at the Paragon apartment complex in Jackson, where they discovered 28-year-old Toraya Reid unresponsive at the exit, having been shot multiple times, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer. Authorities later apprehended Green, 29, as he fled the scene.
Alongside the murder charge, Green is facing two additional weapons charges. Prosecutor Billhimer revealed that Reid and Green had a romantic relationship, but further specifics were not disclosed. Green is currently in custody, and it remains unclear if he has legal representation.
Naz Reid, now entering his seventh season with Minnesota after signing a five-year contract, was honored as the NBA’s “Sixth Man of the Year” for the previous season.
The community of Jackson is situated approximately 31 miles northeast of Philadelphia.
