US Team Gears Up for Ryder Cup 2025 at Procore Championship: Preview and Predictions

The upcoming Procore Championship marks a crucial event for the US Ryder Cup players as they prepare for the 2025 Ryder Cup in two weeks.

The PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup Fall begins this week. Players eyeing full-time status for the 2026 season will utilize the Procore Championship as a launch pad. Those ranked within the top 100 of the FedEx Cup standings by season’s end can maintain their PGA Tour privileges while others must improve their play.

10 out of 12 players of the U.S. Ryder Cup team, led by world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, will compete this week. Key players like Bryson DeChambeau (LIV Golf) and Xander Schauffele (new baby) will not participate.

Scheffler returns after a break since 2022, aiming to build on his successful 2025 season. Russell Henley, J.J. Spaun, and Harris English also qualified automatically for the U.S. team, whereas captain’s selections like Collin Morikawa and Justin Thomas, under scrutiny due to recent performances, are crucial for the upcoming Ryder Cup.

Maverick McNealy, recently outperformed at the BMW Championship, and Ben Griffin, consistent throughout 2025, bolster a strong field in Napa. The Procore Championship is scheduled from Sept. 11-14 at Silverado Resort, Napa, with a total purse of $6 million. Here’s the full field and their odds:

  • Scottie Scheffler (2-1)
  • Justin Thomas (16-1)
  • Russell Henley (18-1)
  • Patrick Cantlay (18-1)
  • Sam Burns (20-1)
  • Cameron Young (22-1)
  • J.J. Spaun (22-1)
  • Collin Morikawa (25-1)
  • Ben Griffin (25-1)
  • Maverick McNealy (28-1)
