With less than a year to go until the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which kicks off in Mexico City on June 11, 2026, updates have emerged regarding the ticket purchasing process. This World Cup will be held across the United States, Mexico, and Canada and marks the first time the tournament will feature 48 teams, expanding from the previous 32-team format, thus introducing a new round of 32 teams following the group stage.

Key Dates for Ticket Sales:

  • Presale draw registration begins on Sept. 10, 2025, and remains open until Sept. 19, 2025. This phase is exclusively available for Visa cardholders.
  • The ticket purchase period starts on Oct. 1, 2025, with tickets ranging from $60 for group stage matches to $6,730 for prime seats at the final.

How Does the Ticketing System Work?

To participate, fans must register on FIFA’s website and create a FIFA ID. Tickets for subsequent phases will be available after a randomized selection process.

Costs of Hospitality Packages

  • Single match offerings: Starts at $1,350 per person.
  • Venue series: Starting at $8,275, allowing access to multiple matches at a chosen venue.
  • Team follow option: Begin at $6,750, allowing fans to follow their team during the group stages.

  • September 2025: CONMEBOL qualifiers end.
  • November 2025: Qualifiers from CAF, AFC, UEFA, and Concacaf conclude.
  • December 2025: World Cup draw.
  • March 3, 2026: 100 days to the event.
