Arkansas Defensive Back Kani Walker Taken Off the Field Following Head Injury Against Ole Miss

A concerning incident occurred when Arkansas DB Kani Walker was carted off following a head injury in the game against Ole Miss.

During a tense match in Oxford, Arkansas defensive back Kani Walker was taken off the field following a frightening head injury against Ole Miss. The injury occurred when a teammate’s knee inadvertently struck Walker in the back of his head.

In the fourth quarter, Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss completed a pass to Deuce Alexander for a gain of 35 yards, with Walker attempting to tackle Alexander at the same moment that teammate Caleb Wooden came in to assist. The collision resulted in Walker hitting the ground hard. Medical personnel attended to him for several minutes before he was placed on a stretcher.

Both teams showed support as Walker was being carted off, and he managed to give a thumbs up to the crowd. According to ESPN sideline reporter Taylor McGregor, Walker was responsive and moved his extremities as he was transported to a local hospital for precautionary reasons.

A fifth-year senior who transferred from Oklahoma, Walker had tallied seven tackles and three passes defended during the Razorbacks’ first two games this season. His career stats across Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Louisville include 59 tackles, 13 passes defended, and two interceptions.
