In a recent game against the Jaguars, Cincinnati Bengals’ quarterback Joe Burrow was officially ruled out after suffering a toe injury in the second quarter. According to CBS Sports insider Jonathan Jones, Burrow is dealing with turf toe and will likely miss several weeks.
Images of the injury are being sent to renowned foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson; if surgery is necessary, Burrow could be sidelined for up to three months. Post-injury, Burrow was seen in a walking boot and with crutches after undergoing an MRI.
The injury occurred when Burrow was sacked by Arik Armstead during the game, causing him to remain on the ground for a while before being helped off the field by the Bengals training staff.
Before departing, Burrow had completed 7 of 13 passes for 76 yards and one touchdown. Backup Jake Browning led the Bengals to victory, allowing the team to maintain an undefeated record. Bengals coach Zac Taylor did not provide further updates post-game.
