Bears' Jaylon Johnson Out Indefinitely Due to Groin Injury

Chicago Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson faces an indefinite absence as he evaluates potential surgery options after suffering a groin injury during a heavy loss to the Detroit Lions.

The Chicago Bears’ standout cornerback Jaylon Johnson is set to be sidelined indefinitely due to a groin injury he incurred during his team’s 52-21 defeat against the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Johnson, who was making his 2025 season debut, exited the game in the second quarter after aggravating a past injury.

Chicago continues to assess the severity of the injury and whether surgery will be necessary. Johnson had been dealing with this injury since training camp and previously missed the season opener against the Minnesota Vikings.

In his brief appearance against the Lions, he managed to record two tackles. The Bears’ defense struggled significantly without him, allowing their highest points total since 2014.

As he faces a prolonged layoff, his absence will impact the team’s upcoming matches against the Dallas Cowboys and the Las Vegas Raiders.
