Chargers' Khalil Mack Injured: Elbow Injury Sustained Early Against Raiders

Mack was seen rushing to the medical tent, and initially, the team deemed him questionable to return due to his elbow injury. However, just before halftime, he was spotted without his pads and with his arm in a sling.

Despite being 34 years old, Mack has maintained his effectiveness on the field. During his first three seasons as a Charger (2021-2024), he amassed 31 sacks, including a standout 17-sack performance in 2023. Earlier that evening, he recorded his first sack of the 2025 season against Las Vegas.

A nine-time Pro Bowl player and three-time All-Pro, Mack was also named the 2016 Defensive Player of the Year while with the Raiders. As of now, his 108.5 career sacks place him 30th in the all-time leaders, a notable figure ranking fourth among active players, behind Von Miller, Cameron Jordan, and Calais Campbell.

Should Mack face an extended layoff, it would significantly impact the Chargers, especially as they have already part ways with fellow veteran edge rusher Joey Bosa this offseason. Defensive teammates Bud Dupree, who recorded six sacks last season, and Tuli Tuipulotu, a second-round pick in 2023 with 8.5 sacks in his rookie season, will likely see increased playing time. The Chargers are also developing rookie Kyle Kennard and third-year player Caleb Murphy at the outside linebacker slot.
