Bills QB Josh Allen to Use Visor Against Dolphins After Sustaining Nose Injury

Following a bleeding nose from a hit against the Jets, quarterback Josh Allen will don a visor during the upcoming game against the Dolphins.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is taking some extra precautions for Week 3. In their upcoming game against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night, Allen will wear a visor on his helmet. This decision comes after he was hit in the face during a rushing attempt in last Sunday’s game against the New York Jets where he suffered a bloody nose but returned quickly to continue playing with gauze in one nostril.

During a press conference, Allen mentioned he was still feeling ‘a little bruised up,’ yet was optimistic going into Thursday’s clash. He started incorporating the visor in practice for added protection. Allen, who has never used one in the NFL, recalls wearing a visor at times during his collegiate career at Wyoming. He noted that while the visor can feel ‘warmer,’ it does not hinder his performance.

‘We’ll see. We’ll probably wear it in the game,’ Allen said. ‘Just trying to get used to it.’

In Sunday’s matchup against the Jets, Allen completed 14 of 25 passes for 148 yards and rushed for 59 yards over six carries, but did not score a touchdown.
