Report: Packers TE Tucker Kraft's Knee Injury Not Serious

Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft has avoided a significant injury scare after suffering a knee issue during practice.

Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft recently suffered a left knee injury during practice. Fortunately, initial reports suggest that the injury isn’t serious and has been described as a ’little tweak.’ Kraft was noted as a limited participant following the incident. NFL insider Ian Rapoport stated that the injury is not anticipated to have long-term ramifications.

Kraft has been impressive in the early part of the season, coming off a standout performance in which he caught six passes for a career-high 124 yards and a touchdown against the Washington Commanders. In addition, he had a touchdown in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions, making him one of just three tight ends to achieve touchdowns in both games so far this year, alongside Zach Ertz and Davis Allen.

Drafted in the third round of 2023 from South Dakota State, Kraft’s performance is a promising sign for the season, particularly after a breakout from last year’s 50 catches for 707 yards and seven touchdowns.

If Kraft were to miss any time, it would be a setback for the Packers offense, considering they are already dealing with wide receiver Jayden Reed’s recent injury, who is recovering from a fractured collarbone. Options to fill in include wide receivers Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, Matthew Golden, and tight end Luke Musgrave, in addition to backups Ben Sims, John FitzPatrick, and practice squad player Josh Whyle.
