Wofford College Welcomes Kevin Giltner as New Men's Basketball Coach Following Perry's Dismissal

Wofford College is set to appoint Kevin Giltner, previously an assistant at Virginia Tech, as its new men's basketball coach to replace Dwight Perry, who was recently fired.

Wofford College plans to appoint Kevin Giltner as its men’s basketball coach. This comes after the recent termination of Dwight Perry. Giltner has served as an assistant at Virginia Tech, where he worked under former Wofford coach Mike Young since 2019.

While discussions are progressing, a source has indicated that Giltner’s hiring is near completion, barring any unforeseen events. Giltner, who played at Wofford from 2008 to 2012, was part of teams that made it to the NCAA Tournament.

The decision for a coaching change follows the dismissal of Perry and associate head coach Tysor Anderson amid an investigation into alleged violations regarding benefits given to players. Despite previous concerns about sanctions, it has been reported that all affected players have been reinstated.
