Ashton Jeanty's Return to Prominence: A Breakout Game

Ashton Jeanty, running back for the Las Vegas Raiders, shines in a pivotal match against the Chicago Bears, showcasing old habits that led to an impressive performance.

Ashton Jeanty is back in top form. After facing challenges in previous games with the Las Vegas Raiders, the rookie running back delivered a stellar performance against the Chicago Bears during Week 4.

Jeanty achieved three touchdowns, joining the ranks of only six rookies in Super Bowl history to score at least two receiving and one rushing touchdown in a single game. He also rushed for a remarkable 138 yards at an average of 6.6 yards per carry.

He attributes this success to returning to his familiar upright stance, a posture that has drawn parallels to Michael Myers, the iconic character from the horror series “Halloween.”

“I just feel more comfortable that way,” Jeanty explained to reporters this week. “More relaxed. Just reading the defense. I can’t really explain it more different than that. That’s just what I do.”

His performance nearly doubled his rushing totals for the season, as he had accumulated only 144 yards prior. Jeanty also showcased his versatility with 17 yards through the air, a notable increase from his previous statistics. This performance is reminiscent of his college days at Boise State, where he was a 2024 Heisman Trophy finalist, clocking in at 2,601 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns.

“Sometimes you just got to prove that something can work and that’s all it is,” Jeanty said.
