Broncos and Commanders Set to Meet Former Titans Receiver Treylon Burks

The Denver Broncos and Washington Commanders are reportedly interested in signing former Titans first-round wide receiver Treylon Burks as he visits both teams.

The Denver Broncos and Washington Commanders are exploring options to enhance their wide receiver corps as the regular season approaches its midpoint. According to reports from NFL Media, both teams are hosting former Tennessee Titans first-round draft pick Treylon Burks for a visit.

Burks cleared waivers earlier this month after his recovery from injuries. The 2022 NFL Draft’s 18th overall selection had encountered hurdles throughout his career, including an ACL tear from the previous year and a broken collarbone in training camp earlier this July.

Notably, the Titans selected Burks with their pick received in exchange for wide receiver A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles, who has since become a standout player. To date, Burks’ professional statistics include 53 catches for 699 yards and just one touchdown over 27 games, highlighting a disappointing start due to continuous injuries. At only 25 years old, the right environment could potentially revitalize his performance.

The Broncos have struggled with their passing game, ranking 16th in the NFL with an average of 206.8 passing yards per game, while Courtland Sutton stands out as the only receiver averaging over 42 yards weekly. In contrast, the Commanders face significant setbacks, with key players like Terry McLaurin missing games due to injuries. Noah Brown and Deebo Samuel are also grappling with their health, further complicating depth at the position. In Week 6, Chris Moore and rookie Jaylin Lane emerged as prominent targets for quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Burks rose to prominence during his time at Arkansas, notably earning First Team All-SEC accolades in 2021, thanks to impressive stats including 66 receptions for 1,104 yards and 11 touchdowns in just 12 games. Despite these accolades, he has faced significant challenges transitioning into the NFL.
