Yohannes previously netted a goal in her club debut against Marseille in September. Her talent isn’t a secret; at just 16 years old, she became the youngest player to start a UWCL group stage match while at Ajax, making her the youngest American to participate in the tournament. Her ingenious play has earned her the Johan Cruyff Talent of the Year award.
OL’s head coach, Jonatan Giraldez, is already employing the young talent as a starter, and her future looks promising. The next Champions League fixture for OL Lyonnes is set in November when they will face the Frauen Bundesliga team Wolfsburg at home in Groupama Stadium. All UWCL matches can be seen on Paramount+.
