CINCINNATI – Joe Burrow, the star quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals, made his first public appearance in over a month at the Paycor Stadium during the matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has missed games since sustaining a Grade 3 turf toe injury on September 14, specifically during a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Burrow underwent surgery shortly after and has been on the path to recovery.

Despite Burrow’s absence from previous games, he attended Thursday’s night game and even took to the field to prep alongside his teammates. Ja’Marr Chase emphasized that it was better for Burrow to focus on his recovery instead of attending games prematurely. “He needs to get ready; they don’t need to see Joe’s face. Just get healthy, come around later,” Chase stated poignantly.

As for Burrow’s return, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport indicated that he is aiming for a mid-December comeback, with no setbacks reported in his recovery. “If this continues in that direction, he should be back on the field in mid-December,” Rapoport shared.
The Bengals’ chances of playoff contention may hinge on Burrow’s swift return, especially as they face challenging matchups in the coming weeks. The team’s upcoming games are crucial for them to remain in competition before Burrow’s projected return.
