Micah Parsons Critiques NFL Officiating, Claims He Hasn't Received a Call in Five Years
Micah Parsons expresses frustration with NFL referees, stating their biased calls favor offenses over defenses.
Micah Parsons isn’t happy about the current officiating in the NFL. The Packers’ All-Pro pass rusher expressed his grievances in a recent rant where he criticized officials for making calls to appease fans wanting more scoring, often impacting the defense negatively.
Parsons stated:
“They don’t call offsides for offense, but they’ll call it on defense. They won’t call offensive pass interference, but they’ll call defensive pass interference. We know what they’re trying to do. They want to load the points up so fans can be happy. They’ll call defensive holding, but they won’t call offensive holding. Let’s just wake up.”
Also, Parsons mentioned,
“Five years of not getting a call, you eventually stop worrying about it.”
He pointed to a lack of penalties against offensive players while suggesting a double standard regarding player safety, referencing an incident from a recent game against the Bengals, where he suffered an injury due to what he described as illegal contact that went unpenalized.
Parsons concluded:
“If you’re going to say it’s about protecting players, then protect all players. Don’t just protect one side of the ball.”
