Renowned MMA Coach Duke Roufus Passes Away at 55

Duke Roufus, the acclaimed coach behind multiple UFC champions, has died, leaving a profound impact on the MMA community.

The mixed martial arts community mourns the loss of Duke Roufus, a revered coach renowned for guiding fighters like Anthony “Showtime” Pettis and Tyron Woodley to championship glory. He passed away at the age of 55, reportedly in his sleep.

Scott Joffe, a coach at Roufusport, announced the news via a Facebook post, emphasizing Duke’s profound impact on the sport:

“Today, the Roufusport family and the broader martial arts community were shocked by the heartbreaking news of Duke Roufus’s passing. He was not just a revered trainer but also a mentor and father figure to many, shaping countless careers with his expertise and compassion.”

Roufus was an eight-time world champion in kickboxing before transitioning to MMA in 2008. Known for building a culture of respect and determination at his academy, he will be remembered for the legacy he leaves behind in the world of mixed martial arts.
