Warriors Release Seth Curry Amid Roster Constraints, Plan to Reacquire Him
The Golden State Warriors have let go of Seth Curry as they manage their roster and salary cap issues, with expectations to bring him back shortly.
The Golden State Warriors have waived guard Seth Curry as part of roster adjustments related to salary cap constraints and are expected to re-sign him once the season begins.
After the release of both Curry and LJ Cryer, the Warriors have reduced their roster to 17 players. Following a tumultuous offseason that saw the dissolution of the Splash Brothers duo with Klay Thompson moving to the Dallas Mavericks, Golden State signed Seth Curry hoping for a new chapter this season.
However, due to the recent financial maneuvers including the new deal for Jonathan Kuminga and the additions of Al Horford and De’Anthony Melton, the team found itself in a cap predicament, leading to Curry’s waiver. Fortunately, his exit appears to be only a temporary measure with plans for a swift re-sign, as reported by Marc Stein.
