Champions League Matchday 3: What to Watch and Expect

Top teams including Real Madrid and Arsenal gear up for crucial matches in UEFA Champions League's third round.

UEFA Champions League action is back this week, highlighting the fixtures as the renowned 15-time winners Real Madrid take on Juventus in what is expected to be the standout match of Matchday 3.

Real Madrid, under the management of Xabi Alonso, are performing well this season with only a single loss in all competitions. This matchup against a struggling Juventus side offers them a chance to maintain their excellent form, with star player Kylian Mbappe already netting 14 goals in the ongoing season.

Along with Real Madrid, five other teams have recorded two victories in their opening matches, including football heavyweights like Bayern Munich, Inter, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain.

The sole outlier, Qarabag, has made history by achieving Azerbaijan’s first win in the tournament against Benfica. Their impressive run was capped off with a triumph over Copenhagen, preceding their upcoming duel against Athletic Club, who reached last year’s UEFA Europa League semifinals but have had a moderate start this year.
