Payton addressed Wilson’s remarks, in which he labeled the Broncos coach as ‘classless’ for comments made after the game regarding Wilson’s replacement by Jaxson Dart as the Giants’ quarterback.

During an interview, Payton stated that his comments were strictly referring to Dart and were not directed at Wilson. He added, “I can understand how he might perceive that, but watching how Dart performed after the win, that wasn’t my intention at all.”

Payton, who previously had a successful partnership with Drew Brees at the Saints, has faced significant challenges in his relationship with Wilson, making their public disagreement notable in NFL history.
