Dallas Cowboys' Trevon Diggs to Miss Games Due to Injury

Star cornerback Trevon Diggs has been placed on injured reserve following a concussion and knee injuries sustained from an unexpected incident at his home.

The Dallas Cowboys have put Trevon Diggs on injured reserve, as the prominent cornerback copes with concussion and knee injuries. This announcement comes before their Week 8 match against the Denver Broncos. Diggs sustained a concussion at home, which sidelined him during last week’s victory over the Washington Commanders. Now on IR, he will miss a minimum of four games and could return by Week 13 to face the Kansas City Chiefs.

In just six games this season, Diggs recorded 13 tackles and one tackle for loss. Throughout his six-year tenure with the Cowboys, he has accumulated 20 interceptions, 63 pass break-ups, and 233 tackles.

The specifics of how Diggs suffered the concussion remain unclear. Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones termed it a “fluke situation” but does not expect a prolonged absence for Diggs.

“I don’t know the combination of the injury and how it impacted the concussion issue. I am not sure of the details surrounding it,” said Jones. “He stated what happened. I’m not saying that it didn’t happen, but often, you’re not the best judge of what transpired to you. … I do expect him back soon.”

Despite having Diggs, the Cowboys are currently struggling as the worst pass defense in the NFL, allowing an average of 260.3 yards per game, which ranks last in the league. They will need to adjust without a crucial part of their defensive lineup.
