Lamine Yamal Issues Challenge to Real Madrid Before El Clasico: 'Last Time It Was 4-0'

As El Clasico approaches, Barcelona's Lamine Yamal calls out Real Madrid's antics and reflects on a previous defeat.

It’s El Clásico weekend as Barcelona and Real Madrid are set to clash on Sunday, with the top position in La Liga at stake. Lamine Yamal has provided an extra layer of motivation for his rivals. In an appearance on the YouTube channel for the Saudi Kings League, Yamal likened Porcinos FC, his co-owned team, to Real Madrid alongside former Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué.

“They rob; they complain,” Yamal remarked, addressing Real Madrid’s reactions to officiating. Piqué further commented that, “It’s not debatable.”

Last season, Real Madrid even went as far as to demand new officials for the Copa Del Rey final when the referees intended to officiate without bias after facing harassment.

Additionally, Real Madrid issued an open letter to LaLiga following a loss against Espanyol, where a foul on Kylian Mbappé resulted in a yellow card instead of a red during a critical championship race that ultimately saw them lose to Barcelona.

Yamal also referenced his last trip to the Santiago Bernabéu, stating, “Last time I went, it was 4-0.” While he made it clear that he doesn’t predict another 4-0 scoreline this time, given Barcelona’s prior season’s form, he believes it’s a possibility. Barcelona has achieved five consecutive wins over Real Madrid ahead of this match, but the leadership of Xabi Alonso suggests this game could be a different story.

As tensions rise, both teams are keenly aware of the significance of this encounter, which marks a significant league test just nine matches into the season.
