Ed Oliver on Injured Reserve: Bills Defensive Star Faces Surgery for Torn Biceps

Buffalo Bills tackle Ed Oliver suffers a significant injury, sidelining him indefinitely.

The Buffalo Bills’ star defensive tackle Ed Oliver is set to undergo surgery for a torn biceps, as confirmed by head coach Sean McDermott on Monday. Oliver, who sustained the injury during the second quarter of their game against the Carolina Panthers, is now out indefinitely.

Oliver fell to the ground after a three-yard run from Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard and began flexing his left arm. He left the field assisted by the medical staff and was later ruled out for the game.

This injury adds pressure to a Bills defensive line that has already been affected by injuries, with teammates T.J. Sanders, DeWayne Carter, and DaQuan Jones currently on injured reserve. The team did recently see Larry Ogunjobi return from a suspension.

It’s been a challenging start to the 2025 season for Oliver, as he had missed four previous games due to an ankle injury.
