After exiting last Sunday’s matchup against the Dallas Cowboys in the first half, Patrick Surtain II of the Denver Broncos has been diagnosed with a pectoral strain, as reported by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. Surtain is considered week-to-week, alleviating fears about a season-ending injury.
In the same report, it was noted that Surtain might be placed on injured reserve, requiring him to miss a minimum of four games. The franchise is likely feeling relieved after witnessing Surtain’s exit from the game last week.
Earlier in the game, Surtain appeared to be injured while defending Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens on an end zone pass. Pickens was able to return to the game while Surtain suffered a pec injury.
Without Surtain, the Broncos will rely on Riley Moss and rookie Jahdae Barron, the No. 20 overall pick in 2025. Their first challenge without Surtain will be this weekend against C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans.
