In an ideal scenario, the NFL would keep the injury bug at bay throughout the season. Sadly, injuries remain a predominant theme weekly, and Week 9 is no different.
While the focus often lies on players who will miss games, there are some positive updates this week. The Ravens are welcoming back MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson after he missed three games due to a hamstring injury. Additionally, Kyler Murray (foot) may return this week for the Cardinals, and J.J. McCarthy (ankle) from the Vikings is also back on the field.
However, there are notable injuries as well as the week begins.
Here’s a summary of the initial injury reports as most teams get back to practice on Wednesday, together with final reports and game designations for Baltimore and Miami.

The Ravens enter Week 9 with full health and zero injury designations for Thursday’s game, including quarterback Lamar Jackson, who has practiced fully and is set to return as a starter.
Hill and Davis missed practice throughout the week, but the Dolphins retain some hope with Davis since he hasn’t been ruled out in the final report. All other questionable players participated fully in practice on Wednesday except for Chubb, who was limited.
Carolina Panthers at Green Bay Packers (-13.5)
After being sidelined last week due to an ankle injury, quarterback Bryce Young fully participated in practice on Wednesday, promising signs for his return. This is particularly significant as backup Andy Dalton is not participating due to a thumb injury. Other absentees include right guard Brady Christensen (Achilles), which coach Dave Canales described as a ‘significant injury’. The offensive line also sees center Cade Mays (ankle, knee) and right tackle Taylor Moton (knee) out of the lineup. Green Bay missed linebacker Nick Niemann (pectoral), defensive lineman Lukas Van Ness (foot), and wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks (calf) on Wednesday, while the club limited guard Aaron Banks (shin), running back Josh Jacobs (calf), kicker Brandon McManus (right quad), offensive lineman Zach Tom (back), receiver Christian Watson (knee), and defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt (knee).
