Eagles Acquire Jaire Alexander in Deal with Ravens as They Enhance Defensive Lineup

The Philadelphia Eagles bolster their secondary by trading for cornerback Jaire Alexander from the Baltimore Ravens ahead of the trade deadline.

In a significant move, the Philadelphia Eagles have traded for Jaire Alexander, a veteran cornerback, from the Baltimore Ravens. This trade comes just before the NFL’s trade deadline and marks the Eagles’ second acquisition of a defensive back this week.

The Eagles are sending a sixth-round pick in 2026 to Baltimore in exchange for Alexander and a seventh-round pick in 2027. They are focused on strengthening their secondary, which has been identified as a key area needing improvement as they approach the deadline.

Earlier this week, the Eagles bolstered their defensive lineup by acquiring Michael Carter II from the New York Jets, addressing their slot coverage needs. Despite Jaire Alexander’s previous success in the league, including All-Pro accolades while with the Packers, his recent performance has not been as impactful. Hence, expectations will be tempered as he attempts to adjust to his new role in Philadelphia.

After being inactive during Baltimore’s recent game against the Miami Dolphins, Alexander will have the opportunity for a fresh start with the Eagles.
