A variety of familiar and new teams form the latest lineup of playoff contenders in the NWSL as they aim for the NWSL Championship slated for November 22. Five teams that participated in last year’s playoffs are returning, including the reigning champions: Orlando Pride, Gotham FC, Portland Thorns, and Washington Spirit. The Kansas City Current, who were dominant this past season, are favorites to ace the championship for the first time.
Other returning teams include San Diego Wave and Seattle Reign, while Racing Louisville makes their playoff debut after clinching the final spot on Decision Day.
All routes lead to the NWSL Championship at San Jose’s PayPal Park, which will commence at 8 p.m. and will be streamed live on CBS and Paramount+.
